How we evaluate deals
The observations, scoring factors and limitations behind our rankings.
Available sources, recorded observations
Configured collectors import available merchant/feed prices and specifications. Checks against those sources are not performance testing or checkout verification. Coverage, timing and completeness vary. Confirm purchase and renewal terms with the merchant.
How price history works
Price history begins when a product is first tracked. We do not reconstruct prices from before that moment. We store an initial price and a new row when the price changes. Unchanged checks do not create rows: the latest recorded change is not necessarily the latest collector check. The chart shows available history within a 90-day window; it does not promise 90 days of observations for a new product. An earlier known price can be carried into the window, and the current catalog price is extended to the endpoint for display. These extensions are not new merchant observations.
Pricing signals and specifications
Deal scores use recorded pricing data, observation timestamps and the configured merchant-quality input described below. Merchant/feed specifications support product comparison but do not directly add score points. CPU, RAM and storage figures are not performance benchmarks. Confirm that specifications, currency and billing terms match before treating a price movement as a saving.
Five deterministic factors
Recorded drops contribute up to 40 points (percentage drop × 0.8). A supported historical low contributes 20, requiring more than one observation. Value relative to the 30-day time-weighted average contributes up to 20 (half the percentage below that average). Configured merchant quality contributes 0–10; it is not a review rating. Freshness contributes up to 10, decreasing with days since the latest recorded price observation. The rounded total is capped at 100.
Unsupported advertised discounts
An advertised discount above 10% without supporting history triggers the suspicious-discount condition and caps the score at 39. This signals limited evidence, not a finding of merchant misconduct. Advertised original prices cannot alone establish a recorded reduction.
Labels and qualifying offers
90–100: Exceptional. 75–89: Excellent. 60–74: Good. 40–59: Fair. Below 40: Normal. The default qualifying threshold is 60 and is configurable. Today's deals use the latest recorded observation since midnight UTC, not a predicted expiry time.
Limits of the evidence
Historical lows are the lowest observed prices in the relevant database window, not all prices ever offered. The 30-day average is time-weighted and carries in a prior observation when available. New products may have little history, and collection can miss short promotions. A stable price can age in the freshness calculation even if collectors checked it again. Scores do not measure uptime, latency, support or fit for your workload.
Independence
Rankings are not paid placement. Affiliate relationships do not determine rankings or deal scores, and commissions do not enter the formula. Synthetic demo data is labelled and excluded from indexable product markup. Send corrections to contact@saidhammane.space with a merchant source so discrepancies can be investigated.
